Fender rumble 350 combo
It's mine tomorrow. Not from guitar center though ... From a place called music center in Kenosha where Bapu used to live as a young inexperienced virgin. http://www.guitarcenter.c...-105805188-i1500545.gcAnyways ..... New amps are exciting for a while .. Like new cars .. Until it feels like its not new anymore

Awwww come on guys make a comment ....it doesn't even have to be about the stupid amp.
It could be about Bapu's underwear or anything.
It could even be dancing monkeys riding elephants as a conspiracy theory. Anything. Don't let a coffee house post go to waste.
And don't let bacon go to your waist.

I thought Bapu went commando? Gosh, if I knew anything about that amp I might comment (not really a fan of Fender amps to be honest). Here, I'll go one better. How about a monkey riding an underwater elephant? Will that do?

I spent some time in Kenosha long ago. I actually studied recording engineering there. I was working in a factory and taking a class at night in a studio built in some guy's house. He had converted the entire first floor of his house into a very nice studio. I learned a lot in that place. Needless to say, that was long before we had DAWs or underwater elephant/monkey hybrids.

I am not being smart here or anything. I am just being curious because I know and heard lots of people not care for fender bass amps in general. But ... Have you played through the rumble 350? Aso ... If you did play through it what was it that you didn't like as compared to the ones ou listed? Also ... What do you think of black line amps?

I think Fender has lost its mojo as far as bass amps are concerned. I had a 70s era Bassman with a 2-15 cabinet, and although it was underpowered and larger by todays standards, it had delicious tone. Todays fender BASS amps are blah... There are some semi botique brands I listed, but to be honest, a Peavey is LOUD, had decent tone, and rugged as heck.Shoot Ive seen duct taped peaveys with half the knobs broken or missing and they keep chugging the bottom end. I am sorry I am not familiar with the Black Line Amps.

I have been playing this http://www.ghservices.com...bass400_524x242c20.jpg With a peavy cabinet with two 15 in it since I was born ... Literally Anyway .. It's big ... I tired out combos and really was blown away with the whole rumble series in general. Supposedly there is sold rumble serious an "old" rumble ..then this rumble series was rebuilt? From wha read. None the less its way more portable than the old ole peavey and .. I liked it. Honestly ... If I had the cash ... I'd probably go with a higher end amp .... But then again I am being honest ... I like the tone of this thing lots Thanks for our input musicman ... I appreciate it Ps ... Pay no attention to Bapu .. ;)

Yeah ... See .. Craig's picture was obviously photoshopped to look underwater but its not. Everyone knows monkeys don't have hidden gills like elephants do so that can't walk underwater like that . Come on!

"New amps are exciting for a while .. Like new cars .. Until it feels like its not new anymore" I agree Mooch but I also think that there are amps that don't fall into that catagory just the same as with some cars. Finding the amp that one never wants to let go of can sure be tuff. I think Fender made an amp that very many guitarist agree(d) was "special" - the "blackface". I know that it was an amp that I wish I'd had and managed to hang onto but since that didn't happen if I needed or just wanted an amp I'd sure look hard at this one and give it test drive before I did anything else. Knowing that amps are something I wouldn't be buying many of I'd like to make sure I got it right. I'm not for certain but I think a Blackface back then- early '60s- was probably around $300.00 and the would be around @2,000.00 today (don't hold me to it...the thought works for me) ...looking at it like that makes me feel a little better about the cost of amps. (old timer issue I reckon lol)

Personally, I like to keep heads and cabs separate (with both guitars and bass). Not only are they lighter to move around, but you can try different combinations too.

I agree, except for combos that are 1x10" or less (but then they need an external speaker jack). The only problem is this approach can lead to a desire for more combinations.
In order, then, to discover the limit of deepest tones, it is necessary not only to produce very violent agitations in the air but to give these the form of simple pendular vibrations. - Hermann von Helmholtz, predicting the role of the electric bassist in 1877.
