Very loud on the resonator, but the vocals are right up there. I'd lower the volume on the resonator and keep the vocals where they are. right up front. Nice little song.

I don't mind working under a woman? (If you know what I mean...) Wait! Are we talking about the same thing?

I have a resonator too :-) (I've tried everything to get it clean, but nothing works?) Wait! Are we talking about the same thing?

Are you playing it with finger picks and a piece of steel? Or in your lap w/a slide?

Hi Robbie. You're nuts man! I use finger picks and lay it flat. It's actually a round neck resonator, but I found this thing that fits over the nut and raises the strings off the neck so you can play it flat. I use one of those Dunlop Lap Dawg tone bars as far as the slide. This song was just messin around so I didn't worry about all the mistakes. Hope you liked it! Thanks for checking it out.

I like the overall sound and tonality and your playing is real nice. I like the perspective as opposed to a modern up in your face studio sound.  My, hopefully, constructive comment: You don't sound pissed off and it seems like you should be.  best regards, mike

Hi Mike. Thanks for the kind words man! You know, I noticed that too. But when I originally recorded it, it was meant to be funny. I was mad in reality, but I think the song I posted last month ("Better Life") conveyed that more, and so with this one I was just messing around. Thanks for checking it out!

Very nice sound.  I would have thought it was an old time blues legend knockin' one out.  Used to catch some of the old boys on Halsted St. in Chicago.  I like your voice!

Yeah, that was way cool. Reminded me of that scene in "O Brother Where Art Thou" where they go into the radio station and the guy pays 'em 10 dollars a piece to "go in there and sing into that can".
Great old timey sound and vibe. Lyrics are cool, too.

Yeah I have a square neck and I lay it in the lap and play it with a piece of steel and play it with the finger pics too :-) If you've played guitar for a long time, it's a pretty easy transition. Fun instrument!

I enjoy it too. Definitely a fun instrument! Love the sound. When I recorded this song mine was pretty much brand new. I've noticed over the last couple years that the tone of it has evolved and gotten twangier. Is that a word???

Good stuff. I've always had a soft spot for the blues. Everything sounds great. I might be tempted to add a bit more saturation if your really going for that old 20s vibe. I love the sound of some of those records. It would be cool to have that needle on the record kind of sound. Surely there is a vst for that?

Thanks Clint! I could definitely see some saturation adding to the vibe. Thanks for the feedback. Fxpansion used to have a plug called "vinyl" that you could use to add needle sound and even warped record sound. You could adjust the intensity and depth of the scratches too. I had it about 10 years ago, used it once, and somehow through the years it disappeared. Thanks for checking out the song Clint!
