Pyro Audio Creator...Is it worth $19.99?

I don't have a dedicated wav editor. I haven't really needed one so far, but $19.99 seems fair if it still works. I would wait until X3 and see what that comes with of course. I'm hoping they add in a new wav editor.

I doubt Cakewalk will ever add an editor to SONAR (but who could have foreseen SONAR X). It is so easy to integrate a third party editor, there is little reason for Cakewalk to add it to SONAR. In addition to several excellent for-fee options there are a couple of decent free options, for example Waveshop and Wavosaur

Pyro does add Red Book CD burning which may be of value which freeware editors do not have. But there are free solutions for CD burning too.

I can see a value in having an editor with burning. I don't really see what Wavosaur or Audacity can do that Sonar can't. I seldom even burn cds, but when I want one I use cdburnerxp and it works fine. If I were to need to crossfade one song into another and add cd markers, I would need something. I'm guessing you vote no to Pyro?

If you do not have anything to perform these tasks, Pyro is an inexpensive solution. I know several people picked it up for free last December when Cakewalk gave us all a $20 store credit.

It is a good little program.  If you don't have a package that does what Pyro does, it is handy to have.  And remember, $20 is the new 5, so it ain't expensive at all.

I've been using Pyro since I first got it during the Sonar 7 days and find it very useful....crossfading, tagging files, converting files etc....it's also nice to be able to use my Sonar plugins to edit.
I only wish there was a 64bit version.....

Being able to use my plugins are a big bonus. Is there a problem using 64bit plugins with the 32bit Pyro? I have t-racks and fab filter.

You cannot use 64bit plug-ins in a 32bit host with bridging them. jBridge has the capability. BitBridge will not do it. I have the 32bit FabFilter plug-ins (and a few others) installed for SoundForge. They are in a path that 64bit SONAR does not scan.

Yeah, That's what I would have to do I guess. Re-download Fab Filter and install the 32bit versions. At least you can use Vsts. CD architect can't do that. Thanks Scook. I'm still going to wait and see what Cakewalk has in store for us. X3 should be just around the corner.
