Channel Tools Missing Presets
When I upgraded from Sonar 8.5 to X1 I lost more than half of the presets in Channel Tools when I add to a new track. All of my older songs/tracks that have Channel Tools in the FX bin seem to show all of the presets. I currently have X2 and still have the same issue. I spoke to tech support who sent a file along with instructions on how to install. "Per our conversation, the Channel Tools presets are attached (by default this file is an .spp extension.) Download (save) this file to your computer - it does not matter where, however you will want to know where it gets downloaded or saved to because you will have to point SONAR to this file.- Open up SONAR and go to Utilities -> Cakewalk Plug In Manager.
- Under Plug In Categories, select VST Audio Effects. Highlight Channel Tools in the Registered Plugins Column.
- Click the Import button, and navigate to the file you downloaded. Click Open.
- Back in your Plug In Manager, click Scan VST Plugins to perform a scan, and then when complete hit Close to close the manager. Your presets should now be available!
This solution did not work in either 64bit or 32bit X2. I receive an error " This file does not contain any presets for the selected plugin". The only way I am able to get the full preset list is to open up an older song (Pre X1) that I used Channel Tools in and save the bin as a new FX Preset. I can then go and insert it into any new track and all presets are there. Has there ever been a solution for this problem. I know others have had this issue. vent----I still have issues with Channel Tools, Dimension Pro/Rapture on all older songs not loading, vvocal, and not being able to see track manager in console view on older songs. This along with other strange gui issues really makes me not want to spend another dime on Sonar. I just paid for X2 a year ago and now there is X3. I really have been struggling with the way this is going and keep considering going to Pro Tools every day. Because of my investment with Cakewalk since Sonar 6 I hedge. I spoke to Cakewalk customer service about my hesitation to going to X3 and they offered to provide a demo version of X3 to see if this would fix my issues. But after several weeks I received an e-mail that said they made a mistake and don't have a demo version to give. Now I see that Cakewalk is already releasing X3c and it has been not even a month since the original X3 release. I just want to move on and do what I enjoy most and thats to create music and not have to keep dealing with these issues. My current system is more than adequate to manage any daw. John
