"Configure as tempo based effect" Question
I've just done some serious investigation of tempo-sync effects in SONAR (latest release). All my tempo-based plug-ins except for what follows work fine ... and they all have the "configure as tempo-based effect" option checked when I look at their properties in the plug-in manager.
I cannot get the Wave Supertap to work under any circumstances. This has been reported here before, and that's not the motivation for this question, but I thought I'd add a "me too" to the list of disgruntled parties.
What surprised me was that the ever-reliable FabFilter effects (Timeless, Volcano, etc.) did not install themselves as tempo-sensitive. I had to go into the plug-in manager and check "configure as tempo-based effect" for the tempo-sync to work. Once I did, the proper behavior was in effect, so it would seem that there's no permanent problem. I'm just wondering why every other plug-in (other than Waves) had this done automatically upon initial scan.
Is there any point in reporting this as a bug to FF (or should I report it to CW)? Have others seen this behavior?
I have effectively zero experience with DAWs other than SONAR at this point, so I don't even know if "configure as a tempo-base effect" is a SONAR-only thing or fairly universal. I'm just trying to figure out if this is a SONAR issue or a FF issue.
