I successfully gave up all soda's many years ago.  With all the chemical additives in it, and the huge amount of sugar per can..... nope, it had to go. The diet stuff is rank, and the chemicals needed to fool the taste buds into thinking you're drinking something sweet...... OMG!!!!

I've known several folks who were practically addicted to Mt Dew.... not good stuff at all.

Water, unsweet tea, or coffee. Occasionally some unsweetened fruit juice..... or beer. (home brewed with no preservatives)

Pretty good choices, Herb.

I never give up the idea of getting rid of Cola - in fact, by my old standards, I guess that I'm 75% there. That one can a day w/ my dinner is pretty much the only infraction in my otherwise very strict and healthy diet.

That is why I started drinking coffee last year. I quit drinking soda. I drink tea sometimes but mostly water.

The thing about fruit juice (which I love) is that even with no added sugar, it still can have a lot of sugar. It is hard, I think, to be a healthy eater/drinker. lol

I recently started drinking green smoothies which is fruit mixed with leafy greens. The whole fruit and leafy greens add fiber which helps slow the absorption of the sugar from the fruit.

My daughter is on a healthy eating kick too. However, she likes yogurt (the kind with the fruit in it). Have you read the label of these? They have twice as much sugar than a can of soda (per unit weight)! Go figure!

What I drink:

  • Water (LOTS of it)
  • Coffee (1/3 of a pot per day up to a full pot on cold days)
  • V8 Fusion (16 oz. per day)
  • GOOD beer (one or two when out playing darts - usually once a week)

That's it!

Time for all of you to head over to Beyond My DAW!
