side-chain bus or other buses created by inserted effects

Hi all,
I'm still using Sonar 8.5for the same reason as ever, blind user-friendliness.
I just installed a new plug-in, (a vocoder), that creates a new bus where you're supposed to
assign the signal used as the modulator.
I suppose this bus is like a side chain for a compressor, and so I looked into sonar's manual and tried to find something about side-chain effects,
but I didn't see anything.
Does 8.5 manage side-chain at all, because for the moment this bus works but in a very strange way, the sound that comes out of it is all saturated
and I don't see any settings for this bus.
Hope someone can help,
Best Regards.

Yes, sidechaining is covered starting on page 629 of the SONAR 8.5 Reference Guide pdf.

    thanks for this Scook.
unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be any level settings for the side-chain bus. I imagine what happens is that side-chain works well for DirectX plug-ins, but not for VST ones.
I hope X2 will be adapted for the blind someday so I can work with something up to date.
    Kind regards,

Sidechain works the same for VST as DX plugins. You can adjust or automate the level going into the sidechain channel via the Send faders. Just insert an aux send on the track you want to route to another track or bus' effect.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

    Okay friends,
    I need your help again.
Whether you use sonar eight point five or a later version, could you please download the vocoder plug-in at the following link and tell me if the side chain (vocoder input 2), works for you.
It will also be the opportunity to try a bunch of very interesting and inspiring plug-ins which all have free trials.
    Here:

The result I get in sonar eight point five, which I'm forced to use because I am blind and Later versions haven't been adapted yet, is that anything I throw into the side chain input gets totally distorted.
Fortunately, the vocoder has another way of working which is that the left channel of a bus will be the carrier and the right channel will be the modulator, this works but it's a little less comfortable.
    Thanks for helping,
    Best regards,
    JPR
