Wicked guitar effect
Where are my guitar virtuosos who can gimme their best guess as to how to create this effect? It's kinda like a tremolo, stutter, random thing. I've never really heard anything like it before and I think it sounds super cool. Sounds like something that's easily done in iZotope's Stutter Edit, or (a way cheaper version) Melda Production's MRhythmizer.
You could also theoretically do this in Guitar Rig by using a rack of step sequencers linked to a volume pedal. But it would be a pain to set up and automate.

Sounds like it could also be a side-chained gate on the guitar track being triggered by a percussion track of some sort?

That's what I said as well - I think it's "kind of" doable but a little bit of a chore to set up. To get a changing stutter like the one in the song, you'd have to chain more than one step sequencer in the rack, set them up with different rhythms, link them to a volume pedal and turn each one off and on with automation. I did this in a song ages ago - I ended up with 6 step sequencers each with its own automation lane. It's a bit of a pain to manage. I wouldn't be surprised if there's an easier way to turn the sequencers on and off using some tool(s) in Guitar Rig but I haven't really investigated far.

delay/reverb pedal with tight time delay? later in the song the same guitar and notes are played but in a slower way way background sound and it just sounds like delay/reverb on a much less extreme setting.
definitely a nice effect used in an interesting way. Like the song too.

Not the same thing, but square wave tremolos set in series at different tempos (sync 'em to tempo) can create a pretty cool effect for dance music...like a 16th note tremolo followed by a 1/4 note tremolo.

the boss slicer effect pedal could do this - if yoiiu want to create this live. or as a vst, the glitch may do this!
