Uninstalling Music Creator Touch and Sonar X1 LE

Hi All,

I also have Sonar X2a Studio x64 installed as well which I upgraded (via recent offer I couldn't refuse).  Since this is an upgrade and still wish to use it - I want to uninstall other software that I'm not going to use - without going through all the trouble and finding out later things don't work...  Just wanting to know if I can uninstall Music Creator Touch and then uninstall Sonar X1 LE.

I want to then install Music Creator Touch to my other PC, a HP Touchsmart and also might consider installing Sonar X1 LE to the touchsmart too...

Would this be OK? Will there be any problems with licensing, any problems with shared components?

Or is it better to Uninstall the lot and then re-install X2 Studio, (do I need either one or the other products installed first as I purchased the Upgrade X2 Studio version)?

Edit: Windows 8 x64

Thanks In advance.
Jim

Hi Jim

It should be okay to uninstall Music Creator and SONAR X1 LE. The only situation in which this might cause problems with using X2 is, for example, if there are VST plug-ins that are unique to MC or X1 LE (i.e. they don't get installed with X2). In other words, you open a project in X2 that you started in one of the other programs and the plug-in is no longer on your system.

To be honest with you, there isn't really any reason to uninstall them, they take up hardly any room on your hard drive, and their presence shouldn't have any effect on your use of X2.

To answer your second question, you can install Cakewalk software on more than one PC. However, as you only actually purchase the (single) licence to use the software, you are only permitted to use one of those installs at any one time. So if you want, you're free to install X2 on both your computers - you just can't use them simultaneously, as that would require the purchase of another licence.

Hope that helps

Steve
