EzKeys?

Hey guys!

I'm a bit interested in EZ-keys. Not for the sound but for the songwriting features. Like being able to pick chords, creating variations etc..
Anyone using this? Are there any better alternatives? I saw that Audiodeluxe had a couple of deals on this at the moment.

Cheers!
/Mats

Metz,
I have EZ Keys...

It's great for song writing....the Chord Wheel is very kewl...
It sounds ok...not great, but passable...

The best feature is the MIDI that it comes with and the MIDI you can buy...
they are great ways to "start" a song composition.  You can change the chords
to suit your needs and edit the MIDI to suit your needs...

That's my 2 cents..

I think Band-in-a-Box,
http://www.pgmusic.com/ is a better choice. You can input your chords, choose a style and if you want have it generate a melody and a solo. Also it will generate a complete band with bass, drums, keyboard/piano, guitar and strings. The combinations are almost endless with all the styles, mixing styles, the different instruments available etc.

One word of caution thought, like any MIDI based track the end sound is only as good as your sound source. That is with a good sound source like Kontakt for example the track(s) will sound much better than using a cheap GM sound set.

But Band-in-a-Box can get around that with RealTracks. These are tracks that are recorded by professional musicians that will play along with your chord progression.

Go to the site, listen to some of the music generated by users, DL the demo (I think there is a demo, if not there is a 30 money back guarantee) and try it out.

The reason people say the vinyl sounds better is because the music was better.

FYI--AudioDeluxe also has the EZKeys midi expansion libraries on sale in 2, 3 and 4 packs.
2 pack for $42
3 pack for $60
4 pack for $78
These are good prices

However, while they include most recent EZKeys Latin in the list of available Ezkeys Libraries, they don't seem to include the EZkeys Funk midi included in the list.  All midi libraries are included except for Funk.  Go figure?
Still, these are some good prices if you are looking for the extra midi libraries for your EZKeys.

The serial #'s provided are "generic" in that you will be able to select which midi pack you want when you register that serial # at Toon.
They are EZK serial's, but good for any ezkey midi library.
