Sonar X2 mp3 encoder problem and solution

Was mixing down some practice tracks for a musical production today.  One of them has a piccolo sound in the intro.  The mp3 encoder that comes with (uh, is sold with) Sonar was having problems with this sound - producing a distracting, weird warble no matter what settings I tried.  Never had a problem like this before.  After sufficient head scratching I did a forum search and found this little gem:  Aaron's mp3 encoder over on the Cakewalk Software forum

Installed it; worked like a charm.  Just thought I'd post this here in case anyone else is having problems with Sonar's mp3 encoder.

(I assume there are other options available; I've always just used Sonar's encoder.  Aaron's program installs fast, has a billion options, and works great).

I have never had fault with the Sonar MP3 encoder, used to use something else, but finally just spent the money for the one they have.

Nice to see another one out there, though - thanks for the post.

Yes it works with X2 (Win7 64 bit)  I have used the Sonar mp3 encoder since 8.5 (at least).  Never noticed a problem before.  This little program actually inserts options into the Sonar drop-down box when you select Audio->Export.  Very easy to install and use AND, for me it fixed a problem that was holding up a project.

    Hi,
Just installed this. It may not remove Sonar's MP3 options, but it removed my own LAME options when I removed the patch's options.
Now I've got to install them all again.
