Missing the yellow pitch lines on pitch editor

When I select a portion of a vocal clip for v-vocal there are no yellow pitch lines for the track.  Just the audio track.  Needless to say, v-vocal is unusable without the correctable pitch lines.  Please Help!  What is wrong here?
