    Probably still the easiest way (for free) is with TapeStop an old 32bit VST

    Try reelbus, has a fab tape stop. Demo available to try, it's only 15 euros to buy anyway.

    This is the more understimated plug in of the market!!!!!!
    I have demoed many plugs but for me is the best tape emulation!!

    Glitch 2 has a nice tape stop effect.  A bit more expensive at $60, but also has more effects, sequencer, etc.

    Tapestop is good - I've used it - but it takes a bit of tweaking to get what you want, and the help isn't exactly user friendly, but it helps.
