Teac 4 track.  I named it "Rodney Sound".  Got a publishing deal with Warner Brother's Music based on the demos we did not it.  That led to an album deal with Planet Records in 1979.

    Cool.

This is me in a rented studio in 73/74 (memory is gone of exact date but it was before my son was conceived and he was born Feb '75).

My first home studio was in an annex off the master bedroom (it was referred to as a sitting room). Sadly I have zero pics of that one.

I upgraded from the PortaOne to the Tascam 80-8 for recording and 80-2 for mix down using a Tascam M-312 as the console. I have zero pics of that one too.

Did that for about 5 years (in two different houses) before I went to the ADATs and the Alesis X-2 console/board. Yup, zero pics of that one too.

Y'all are going to suspect none of them ever happened, huh?

Anywhere were I could plug those 2 things - usually, in a corner of the living room.

You kinda remind me of Gary Thain from Uriah Heep in that picture. Awesome bass player that died way too young.

Interesting that you say that Leadfoot. After he died I met a guy who knew the band and he asked me if I wanted to audition for the band. My son was just born (or was a year or so old, again the memory machine is not fully functional these days) and I passed on the idea of touring etc.
