VS 700 R versus RME UCX !!

High!                                                                                                       (lol i kept the high after re reading lol as it made me laught) !!

just wanted to know if somebody has compared both (or maybe the ufx) ?

The VS 700 R is getting on my nerve (cause of noise) , i just got (this summer) a ucx for my on the go work , but i'm more and more thinking about replacing the 700 r (witch is a pain as i will loose the cool montioring section on the VS 700 C !!

Anyway anybody really tried to compare both ...setting up a comparison will be a pain now ....

thks !!

PS : More concerned about the convertors comparaison ....even if i know the matrix will kill the 700 editor

I see it as a bit of a no brainer in favour of the RME. The fact the effects processing alone would be a big factor for me. The converters are going to sound stellar that is for sure. You might even get a lower latency with the RME unit. There are only two Mic Pres as opposed to 8 on the VS700R but I guess you have got some other strategies worked out there. The one I am interested in from RME is the Fireface UFX that is a pretty nice unit too.

TotalMix is going to be a huge advantage over the V700 editor as well, no comparison really. And it is going to be very quiet too which you will appreciate very much. I also like very quiet working bits in my studio and I would find that a pain as well, interface making too much noise that is.

There are plenty of controller options now as well instead of the V700C. I am looking to the UAD Apollo interface plus UAD built in concept right now and that is looking rather cool and worthwhile.

    Thks Jeff for ya input...

the thing is that i have the room correction ARC2 also so on my master out : SUB out (heaphone) and a send to the ARC bus : output of this bus : Main ...easy to habndle all that in the Mon section ....anyway still thinking about it ...the preamp thing isn't an issue as i enter line coming from dedicated 3rd party preamps...
