The All Bass dream

Dreams are weird. I wish I could remember more of them when I have them. I had one last night where I was in some music store, an older type shop probably in some inner city. But it was an "All Bass' music store. Only bass or bass related instruments (like a piano; no fish though). Guitars were all bass. Electric, stand-up. It was actually a nice shop.

I remember playing the piano to the song "I Wish' (Stevie Wonder). It has a great bass line. I actually couldn't really play that on the piano not being a keyboard player (hmmm.... I wish???).  I used to play bass guitar in a wedding band some 30-years ago and this was my favorite song we played. Wow. How that came to surface last night. Weird.

Sounds fishy.  Did you run some scales too?  Thank Cod it wasn't an all accordian store!  I'm guessing you had the dream just for the halibut.

Hmmm. Maybe on to something. We did go to Red Lobster last night. Salmon, coconut shrimp, and stuffed Flounder. Yummee.

Hi,

I've had a lot of music related dreams, up to and including the sounds and bits that I have not yet found, some of which are not an instrument that we know or have heard yet!

(I won't discuss that with Bapu or other folks here, they already know and think I'm out of it anyway, and too old to learn A or a B or even wtf is Am?)

All the moments I have had, are written down and will be a part of a book, that will make it out someday ... there are, so far, about 25 of the bits and pieces on it ... which make up to about 100 pages so far.

Sadly, the CHB, won't make it ... because the image I had come up with it, a little of a compliment to Hipgnosis, was turned down like a brick by Bapu and others, and it hurt ... but the image was very strong, and I thought that it was illuminating, something that the band still had when it left the stage. It was not only direct, it was also subliminal ... but I guess that some of the folks within it, were not wanting to get deep about anything, except the recording of it. It was a perfect example, of a kid seeing something, and dad and mom telling you ... just shut up, you're seeing things, and it's not worth it, and basically telling you that what you see is bad and wrong.

Some of the folks in it, which have had moments in my dreams:

Roger Daltrey
Bryan Ferry
Eno
Phil Manzanera
Klaus Schultze
Vangelis
Mike Oldfield
Edgar Froese
Madonna
Sandy Denny
Janis Joplin
Nektar
Guru Guru
...

and several others. I really wanted to put the CHB in the middle of all these ... but ... oh well ... might as well die and when this is seen ... I hope that you enjoy it! If you don't ... no hard feelings, since I will already be gone, anyway!

As a wise Guy once stated from his holy chapala ... none of the hits, none of the time ... prevents you from becoming just another turkey in the middle of all the other turkeys!

Speaking of an all bass scene, not a dream but a movie scene -- a fairly recent movie called Scott Pilgrim has an impressive and amusing scene with a bass play-off. It's thunderous.

Two internal 2TB SSDs laptop stuffed with Larry's deals and awesome tools. Studio One is the cat's meow as a DAW now that I've migrated off of Sonar. Using BandLab Cakewalk just to grab old files when migrating songs.

Did you manage to shred some scales on the bass?
