Quickfixes and patches come out shortly after release because of the lag time between 'release' and when discs get printed and go to the stores etc. There always needs to be an end date or nothing would ever come out, but we also don't stop working.

You know, there was a time when you could buy something and it worked.

It's a good thing car manufacturers don't follow this model.

Well, except for the millions of cars recalled over the years...frankly, I'll take "audio engine gaps sometimes" over "door fires," "airbags randomly deploy," "engine fires," "transmission slips into reverse," or "sudden loss of power" any day. :)  Click on the link to see the information below formatted properly...

To be fair, at least with a car, you will probably get more than a few days use out of it before it conks out or requires fixing. And then at least when they are recalled or there are any issues, the owner doesn't have to pay if it is within warranty period or an issue due to something in the way it was built.

Unfortunately with Sonar, some are lucky to get a day out of it without it stalling and although patches may come, often they are few and far between. It does seem like cakewalk dangle the carrot and have people holding on for patches and updates only to be told you have to pay for the new version for something to be fixed which should have been done FOC for the last versions.

I still use 8.5 for most of my older projects, I have X1 which I have started some new projects in and it seems ok when some random little something doesn't crop up to stop you. I've also got X2, I have learned to wait until the price drops on upgrade, get the software and crack on using it after I have completed everything in the previous versions I wish to....usually by then Cakewalk have at least solved some of the major issues and that odd 1 or 2 patches can make the difference.

I'm taking all bets on a release date...I'm feeling lucky :)

In fact, I've given this much deeper thought (being a bass player with a 5-String I'm qualified to do that).

The release date is tomorrow and you rake in all dates beyond that in major dosh.

By the way, will this be a group buy?

Nice of the bakers to appear on the forum during this period of hunting down X3 leaks. But can I please remind you that you work for cakewalk not catwalk and would appreciate a tasty morsel of a comment about the future of my beloved DAW as I am way too lazy to hunt for it.
If you can't find me, I've just seen a piece of paper on the end of some string . And that moving light is intriguing.

Ps I hate DAWg's
;-)

Hugs and kisses

When we have something to announce, you will know. I promise :)

That would depend on how well your email system is now working ;-)
