Thanks Rain and Wookie...

I think it is easier than someone dying in an accident and maybe he will improve... he is a tough old man. He is the most positive person I have ever known. ehhh it is hard.

Thanks Beep... I wish I could be there now, he was asking where I am. I would call but he can't understand me on the phone. He has known something was coming, he asked my wife to set up financial pwer of attorney over him and mom. We got that done last month, he knows that she will take care of them... or mom. It made my sister mad but she is incompetent. My wife is a CPA and a financial wizard... she also has to do everything that involves getting anything done about anything...
I think everything will resolve itself very soon. He will either get the right diagnosis and be on the mend or he will pass away within a week... I think.

Better days:

Well sounds like you have as good a handle on things as can be. I can't offer anything more than positive thoughts and an open ear if you need. The only close family I really have is my mom and I deceive myself into believing she'll live forever (SHE WILL!!!).

You know how to get a hold of me if you need to scream. I'm a good punching bag. Best to ya, buddy.

You are right Leadfoot and I used those very words this morning while talking to Him... but He knows best. I asked for what I want but understand that He knows best. I just hope dad gets to go home... literally before he goes HOME.
Thanks again Beep. Life is good until it is bad the it is still life and we have to get out of our comfort zone. We all grow through the hard stuff. If life were always easy we would never mature, never grow, never learn to love anyone other than ourself. I really, REALLY... appreciate the words. You'll never know how much the words here mean to me. I posted on Facebook last week, about dad with a picture.... not one response. I posted an update tday... no replies. I think things there get lost in all the political crap and FB has become twitter with pictures. I am thinking of cancelling FB. I will lose touch with a few friends but we never see each other anyway. PEople I grew up with etc... I am coser to you guys than I am with them. I know I post some moronic stuff here but I am tolerated and feel accepted. You know... that is important, to think that someone cares, even if they don't know you in person... it matters and I am thankful, more than you (all aka ya'll) know.

Facebook is a gutter and the only reason I keep my account going is because it's the only contact I have with many of the people I care about. Even still I haven't opened the darned thing in ages and encourage people to email or call me instead. Of course that's "too hard" for the throwaway generation/culture. It was good for promoting the bands but now that all that is over it's usefulness has diminished greatly. Frankly I find it an intrusive privacy breach more than anything.

Just blathering. Trying not to pop on one of the bakers upstairs.

And obviously the offer still stands. I managed to get them to up our PM limit today too so yanno... blast away iffen ya wanna.

WHAT??!!!  Almost missed this incredible little nugget of goodness.

I nominate Beepster as Member of the Moment for his good deed!  We used to be able to archive our PM's instead of just deleting enough to use 'em.  The forum software "upgrade" did away with that nice little perk.  Thanks for getting them to up the limit Beep!

Heh... I was a little surprised it actually worked. It has been bugging me since shortly after I joined. I guess they do listen sometimes... but yeah, back to Julien.

Been here for a while. Dad has thrush in his mouth from all the antibiotics, so he is not eating much but actually... I think he is doing better than yesterday. It is going to be slow and could go good or bad but I think he will be going home tomorrow... I hope.

I dread trying to sleep in this hospital recliner again tonight... but I will pass out sooner or later no matter where I am.

Thrush sucks.  I've had a few minor bouts with it.  Had to take lonzenges or gargle a syrup.  The syrup seemed more effective and quick to deal with.  Each lozenge lasted about 20 minutes.  For each dose of either, I couldn't drink or eat anything for a half-hour afterwards.
A friend of the family had a bad case and wouldn't eat anything at all.  He had to go into the hospital for I.V. nutrition.

Continued prayers and best wish to all of you,
Jan

Parents care for us at our beginning and if we can be around to help them nearing their end then that's a great return on their life's investment in you.

You sound like a caring son Julian. I've not heard you complain about the difficulty for yourself, rather you focus on the needs of your parents. They're fortunate to have you.

All the best for you and your family.
