How do I make the track grid display the same as the snap settings?

I can find no rhyme or reason to the grid which is displayed in the track view, it's making working with audio transients very hard going indeed.  It's not always easy to mentally picture where the snap grid lines lie at different snap grid settings and horizontal zoom levels.

For example, how do I make the track grid display 8th note triplets if that's what I have the snap grid set to?

Back in S6, it was easy to add gridlines that follow snap. It's still possible, but the path is a little round-about now:

    1. Set the Edit Filter to show transients on an audio clip.
    2. Right click that clip with the transient tool, and choose Pool > Add MBT to Pool.
    3. You'll now have pool markers in the timeline with corresponding gridlines in the track pane that follow the snap grid.
    4. Note that the pool line interval may not immediately reflect a change in the snap grid until you change the timeline zoom level.
    5. Once you have pool lines showing, you don't need to have an audio clip in the project any more; that's just to get you access to the transient tool's context menu. This means you can enable them in a new project using a dummy audio clip, then delete that clip, and save the project as a template.

    Cheers brundlefly

Blimey, that is quite the work-around.  I'll check it out later this evening.

Really it's just the first couple of steps. The others are just info. Also, I (re)discovered after posting that it's not necessary to have a clip in a track to get the transient tool's context menu; just set the Event Filter to Transients, and you can right-click in the empty track. The only bummer is having to change timeline zoom to get it to update with snap resolution changes; that wasn't necessary in X1 or earlier. I'm guessing the new timeline zoom tool in X2 broke it; time for another trip to the Problem Reporter.
