Breakfast with SCC...

Most of you guys probably don't know who this is, but in Contemporary Christian music, Steven Curtis Chapman is a huge name!

He's won 5 Grammy's and 56 GMA Dove Awards, he is one of the top producers in Christian music today.  Even if you've never heard of him, you've probably heard some of his music.  he has music not only on the radio, but in film and TV as well.  He was the main author of the soundtracks for the Narnia movies.

Ok - introductions aside, he is coming to the Dallas area tomorrow night for a concert.  My wife's birthday was yesterday, so I bought us some tickets and we're going with a couple of friends from church.

well, for promotion, the local Christian radio station is giving away tickets, and my wife WON!  the best part, however, is not the better seats we get from the free tickets, but that we get to have breakfast tomorrow morning at the radio station with Steven Curtis Chapman!

How cool is that????

    Congrats Mr. & Mrs. Beag!!
I enjoyed watching those Narnia movies, and IIRC the soundtrack was quite good.
Hope you have a wonderful time and have a few extra slices of Becan (even if you have to snag it from Steven).

Congratulations Beagle. My wife lined up tickets for his concert coming up in my area. I have never been a huge fan of his. We went to one of his concerts a few years back and my wife loves his music. I always tag along to the concerts. Wow, that eating breakfast with Stephen would be a tops of all time thing to win for her. Hope your wife enjoys herself.

Reece what an exciting previledge to have breakfast with SCC.  I'm sure your wife is excited too.  The first Christian concert I went to was a Steven Curtis Chapman concert.  My wife and I were still newlyweds.  WOW that was a long time ago!

I have a new found respect for Steven.  I recently saw an interview with him and his wife speaking of the tragic loss of their adopted daughter.  In this interview he speaks of a drawing his then 5 year old daughter made, her prayer a few days before and her writing the word SEE on the back of the drawing.  That's the name of the song "SEE" he sets up and sings in the interview.  How he can sing this song without utterly falling to the ground and weeping uncontrollably is beyond me.  It's an awesome song that not only demonstrates his singing abillity but his awesome gift to write incredibly moving songs.  I hope you don't mind my posting the link below:

the tragic loss of their adopted daughter.

That one really tugged at my heart strings...I have an adopted daughter from China.  That would have to be really devastating.

can you believe it?  there was NO BECAN at the breakfast!  in fact, no protein at all!  just carbs, juice and coffee!

anyway - he's such a "down to earth guy" it's incredible!  there was another couple there who won tickets and they had lost a 17 year old son tragically a year ago and they were sharing with SCC their story and the whole room was crying!

Michael - yes, 94.9 KLTY - she won tickets from Frank Reed, morning show!

Mrs. Beagle has been excited about this!  she's a big SCC fan.  Tim, I'm like you, he's not my favorite but I do like some of his stuff (and I've even sung a couple of his songs in church as solos), but Beverly really likes him and this was really great for her!  there were 11 of us there, 5 winners and guests, each of us got a copy of his new CD that comes out today and he signed all of them for us.
