How long are your downloads taking??
I am thinking this weekend the servers will be hammered, so maybe waiting a few days or a week might be better...

I'd be interested to find out as well actually. The files are served up by Amazon Cloudfront some they should hit a different pipeline depending on your location in the world.

Mine took 2 hours for all 4 files... (I was on X2 so didnt bother with Loops and Dimension) Addictive drums took an hour. I'm on a 7mb pipe and I think my sonar DL's were averaging at about 200kbps

Ryan, I know LOTS of products are hosted by AWS, and they have a hefty server bank. I know having a download manager is pretty much mandatory (which FF has built in ). Hopefully some users will chime in ...

Not done yet but it looks like it is gonna be about 2 hours for all 4 parts of the main installer to download. Average speed per file at this moment is 200kbs.

On a DSL connection X3 took only a few hours but I didn't have to D/L the loops, one shots or DP.

I didn't actually track it but some where around 30 minutes to an hour for the 4 main Sonar files. I didn't need the loops, DMPro etc, already had them. Dan

Yeah. Last year I believe we were using S3 at the time of the X2 launch which wasn't as reliable in different areas of the world. This is ultimately what prompted us to start providing MD5 hash info for the files (since it can help to determine if a file was corrupted during the download process). If anyone does need to perform this check, I've posted all of this info here: http://www.cakewalk.com/x3install I don't know if it's just me, but I find that not looking at it makes it go faster :)

I started the download around 1:15pm EST. The download of all 4 parts took about an hour, maybe less. I did not wait at the computer while it was downloading.

I have successfully downloaded all four parts of the SONAR files in less than an hour on cable, and the Read Me and also the Video I purchased.

I was having difficulty downloading parts 2 and 3 while everything else went smoothly and quickly. Parts 2 and 3 had messages like server not found for me anyway. The issue cleared and they downloaded fine.

Two internal 2TB SSDs laptop stuffed with Larry's deals and awesome tools. Studio One is the cat's meow as a DAW now that I've migrated off of Sonar. Using BandLab Cakewalk just to grab old files when migrating songs.

My downloads seem to be moving right along. I'm not sure where CW is sourcing it's store DL's from, but I'd expect that any dodgy behavior is due to local network conditions along the path your DL is routed. DL's are usually straightforward for a server, less work than serving pages as it doesn't need to hit a database with queries, and the OS can cache file reads.

I decided to try downloading the program, but as expected it's taking forever, I already have about two hours into it and I'm only halfway thru part 2. I hate downloading.

I'm getting a speed between 350 and 480 KB/s. I started downloading at 10:30 AM and I'm just about finished with the last one - Addictive Drums - at about 6:00 PM. So lets say about 8 hours. I downloaded the loops, but not Dim Pro as I already have it. It is said the loops are the same as in X2 (they are even called X2 Loops) but the MD5 hash is different so I downloaded. I copied all my media content into the X3 library before installing the new loops so I should get new and old data. I've installed X3, but not restarted yet or made the first run. I'll do that after the Addictive Drums download and install. I got all my VST3 plug-ins set up as well.

It took several hours. I ran it overnight and it was ready when I woke about 6:00am. I am in the Philippines and my connection can be up to 5Bbs but is usually slower around 1.5-3Mbs If I was near Manila I'm sure it would be faster.
