SOLVED: What is correct order to install Melodyne version 1 and update to SONAR X3?

SOLVED - see next post.

I have Melodyne Editor version 1.0.8 from 2010.  It was not installed after I rebuilt my boot drive.  I do have SONAR X2 installed and am ready to install X3.

Should I install Melodyne Editor first, get the update to version 2, and only after that install X3?

Or can I install X3 now (I'm anxious to try it out), and install then update Melodyne later with no difficulty?

Thank you.

This says I should update Melodyne for $49 first.
