Sonar X3part 1 install file corrupted ?

I get a message that a fatal error is in this file and is corrupted. I have downloaded the file twice and get the error message both times. I deleted the first one before redownloading it again. Anyone got a guess as to what might be causing this ?

I also had a problem with a couple of DL'd files. What's happened was that a download finished incompletely. Part 1 should be 1,257,276Kb in size.

The message you're getting typically happens if there is an incomplete download or file corruption. One quick test I would try:
    1. Go to the Run prompt in Windows by holding down the Windows key and pressing "R".
    2. Type in the following: %temp%
    3. Click [OK]
    4. See if there is a "SONAR X3 ..." folder in this location. If so, delete it and then try running the part1.exe installer again

If that doesn't work, with cases like that, really the only thing you can do is download the files again. A few suggestions I usually send to users:
    1. If you are using Internet Explorer, try using an alternate web browser with a built-in download manager such as Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome. The built in download managers in these browsers help with large downloads, especially if you experience any interruptions in your connectivity.
    2. Temporarily disable any anti-virus software. AV software can often times slow your download speeds and cause file corruption. The downloads hosted on our servers are protected and virus free, so you are safe to temporarily disable any AV software running in the background.
    3. If you're using a wireless connection but have the ability to plug into a wired connection, definitely do so. This can often improve download speeds resulting in a better experience.

If you are unsure of if your downloads are corrupted or not, you can perform a checksum calculation on them. At http://www.cakewalk.com/x3install I have listed MD5 Hash info for running checksums against our downloads. Ultimately, you will want to make sure your downloads match the checksum values we have listed on this page. If one of the downloads does not match, then the installer will not run properly. If you have never performed a Checksum Calculation, there are a variety of free tools available online that will do this for you. The one I'm personally a fan of can be found at http://www.pc-tools.net/win32/md5sums/

This one is very simple to run. Basically you just drag the SONAR installer on top of the md5sums.exe file and it will return a result in command prompt. Match that result against what I have listed on the page above. If it's different, you'll want to download again.

    I hope this is helpful!

I should point out that when I posted this, my hyperlink was linking to the SONAR X2 instructions. If you clicked the link in the past 20 minutes or so, click it again I fixed it.
