[Answered] X3 - Q about Melodyne license

Not sure if this has been answered before, but could someone tell me if Melodyne Essentials that ships with X3 Studio and Producer is tied to Sonar? Reason I'm asking is that I also own Presonus Studio One 2 Producer. Producer doesn't ship with Melodyne, but can still integrate it if you already own a Melodyne version.....So, if I were to upgrade to Sonar X3 Studio or Producer, would I be able to use Melodyne in Studio One Producer too?

It's not tied to Sonar but I don't know if it works in S1 Producer (I own it too but I haven't upgraded to X3 so I can't tell. Actually, I'm not planning to upgrade to Studio/Producer so I don't need to worry about it).

Thanks Jlien. Maybe it's a bit of a cheeky question...It's just that for the price of an upgrade from my current Sonar Producer to Sonar Studio X3 ("lowest" version with Melodyne) is about the same as  buying Melodyne Essential...So, if it would work in Studio One, I kill two birds with one stone...I get X3 and I get Melodyne in Studio One.

Yes, I know, if I were you I would post exactly the same question.
I hope someone will give you the answer soon.

I have the same question.  I have both Studio One and X3 w/ Melodyne installed now.  I will have to test this sharing.  I hope both DAWs can use it.  I will let you know once I try it.

It's not tied to SONAR X3 Studio or Producer. It would work just as if you had purchased it from Celemony.

Same with Addictive Drums.

Great - many thanks for confirming Andrew! That's an easy decision then...Everyone is a winner, me, Cakewalk and Celemony! ;-)

I tested this.  Melodyne Not tied to either DAW. Vsts in a common Celamony folder. I used serial number from X3 purchase so it activated product as "Essential" version Checked to see if it works in both DAWs and it does!  This was easier then I expected.
