2 simple questions for Noel
I use Windows 8 Pro 64-bit, SONAR X2a 64-bit, Dimension Pro 1.5, Rapture 1.22, Z3TA+2 2.1, UAD-2 Quad, etc. on an i7-2600K, 16GB RAM system. The audio interface is a RME Fireface UFX. I would like to replace X2a with X3a without having to reinstall Dim Pro, Rapture, Z3TA+2 or any other plugin. (1) Which is the best procedure for doing that and (2) which uninstaller do you recommend for removing X2a (Sonar, Windows, CCleaner, Revo, etc.)

Just don't uninstall X2. The program itself is less than half a GB, the rest is content you can use in X3. If you can spend the HD space, the easiest option is just to leave X2 (you might lose RMix too otherwise, for instance).

When installing SONAR X3 you could effectively select an "Advanced Install". This would allow you to exclude any plugins that you do not want to install with SONAR X3. Also, Dimension Pro and Z3TA+2 are not included in the installer. Both have their own separate installers from the SONAR X3 Producer installer. So just don't install those again.

Thanks for answering, but what about my second question?

Sorry, totally missed that. I typically stay away from those programs for clean installing. If you contact tech support via email they can give you the proper clean install directions for our software. If you want you can PM me your case number once you submit your request. http://www.cakewalk.com/support/contact/TechnicalSupport.aspx

ccleaner is pretty much none destructive (and one of the few bits of software I trust not to muck up) , and even if it did clean something from the registry , you have the option to backup the registry BEFORE doing it.
