X3 - Tape Emulator / Tape simulation
1. How do I save a preset for the Tape Simulator plugin? 2. How can I make it show numbers for different settings? It isn't possible to return to a value. 3. Tape speeds are 15 ips and 7.5 ips. In a professional environment tape speeds are usually 15 ips and 30 ips. Why 7.5 ips ? 4. A lower tape speed always lowers S/N ratio. Here I notice that 15 ips produces a higher noise level than 7.5 ips which then is wrong (the 15 ips produces a brighter noise spectrum which is correct, but the level should be lower than 7.5 ips). If you don't like the plug, then don't use it. Simple.

I've read it a few times, and while I agree, if you don't like the plug then don't use it. I fail to see just where he said that he didn't like it

15 ips and 7.5 ips would represent "tape" and "taper". 30 ips is very transparent and probably not what people would be looking for in a tape emulator plugin (except perhaps, for mastering purposes).

ThomasEngineer 1. How do I save a preset for the Tape Simulator plugin? Thomas
I don't know how for an individual PC module but in the console view, you can save/load a preset for the entire prochannel. It is near the top of the channel strip under the word "ProChannel". It should say "Untitled". If you click that you get a save/load option.
Win 10 (64 bit), i7-2600k 3.4GHz , 8 GB RAM, SATA III (500GB SSD - System, 2TB WD Black - Data), Sonar Platinum x64, m-audio Profire 610
