[Answered]Melodyne (and V-Vocal) Greyed Out

I've got a vocal clip selected, I click on Region FX and all the Melodyne (and V-Vocal) options are greyed out. Any thoughts?

Typically when it is greyed out it is because there is something going on with the clip itself.  Is it a grooveclip?  If so, bounce it and then try.

Thanks for the reply, dubdisciple. It's not a groove clip. Also, it doesn't matter what clip I have selected, they're always greyed out. Oddly, it was working fine yesterday.

Very odd.  I'm in the midst of doing a clean install.  If you don't have this resolved by the time I finish, I will look at some of the other usual suspects when this happens.

Just a thought, but are you selecting a portion of the clip to be processed? Until you do that all the options are grayed out. After selecting a portion of the clip, the menu allows you to "Create Region FX".

Hi, Walt. I've tried it selecting the whole clip and also just selecting a portion of the clip. They're greyed out both ways.

Think I've figured it out. It doesn't seem to work on 32 bit audio files. This is a bummer as I like to have Sonar set to render at 32 bits.

Dear, Cake, can this be changed?

Edit: the above statement is incorrect. See Noel's post below.

This is because the clip you selected is audiosnapped or slip stretched. We do not automatically ARAfy these because they are two different technologies. Normally you will want to undo the slip stretching or audio snap before ARAfying. If however you do want the current state, first bounce to clip to apply it and then you will be able to ARAfy afterwards.
I should probably add this to the blog post on ARA.

Thanks, Noel. My bad. I thought it was the 32 bit thing. I tried it on a 24 bit audio file and it worked, so I assumed that was the crux of it.
