Upstanding service by Celemony (reg Melodyne upgrade)

Hey all, I just wanted to mention that the folks at Melodyne also offer great customer service. I bought the Melodyne upgrade hours after installing Sonar X3 and right before mention was made of the special offer for Sonar customers. So I paid 299e for Editor.
After the deal was announced, I contacted Celemony to ask them to please include me in this deal and I just got word back that they are kind enough to comply and will refund the difference (150e). I would've felt somewhat shafted if they hadn't, but they were still under no obligation to do so since I bought and paid before the announcement, so I think that's great service of them and I wanted to mention it here.

Uh huh.   Acoustic guitar often works well with DNA since recordings tend to be very clean.     It's pretty fun, aye?

It's INSANE... I have NEVER had ANY interest in "autotune" stuff or whatever, outside of just joking around while recording rap hooks or something... But I would never use it in anything serious I was doing... But after watching the video on Melodyne Editor's DNA function, I was speechless... And now that I've tried it, it really didn't work very well on the LOW LOW 6-string bass I tested it on... But when doing acoustic guitar stuff with it... IT'S RIDICULOUS... I'm trying to post a link to my Uncle Tom's Cabin re-tuning or whatever in a different thread, but I'm still too new here to be able to post links... Melodyne Editor's DNA function though, honestly blows my mind...

Thanks for bringing this to my attention... too much going on right now. (as usual). I have been spending a bit much so I set myself a reminder to upgrade on 10/22 so it will hint my next billing cycle on AMEX... but I am going to upgrade for sure!!

Actually, if I'm not mistaken they are only offering this deal until the 15th or 16th, so if you want it, you'll have to get it sooner.  I wasn't planning on it myself, but reading all of these testimonials on what it will do makes it extremely tempting.

They call 'em fingers, but I've never seen 'em fing.

Etmos, my colleague was a beta tester when DNA was first developed. He was scoring a movie at a time and the Russian orchestra they hired at the time fluked and didn't record at 440 as requested (the piano was tuned 440). Though it was their fault, it was impractical and unaffordable to redo the recordings. So he used DNA to tune the piano parts to match the orchestra. His results were excellent. I remember being absolutely flabbergasted by that. Still am, when I think about it.

Hi Sander - let me help you with a European keyboard.
    You mean €149

PS - I'm glad to hear they gave you a refund. They seem really good (I posted in a different thread). I also got a refund - but from audiodeluxe - for the upgrade. I was lucky enough to get to them before they actually dispatched my upgrade serial number. Mind you their (sale) upgrade price was $209 which isn't very much more than €149 when you convert to GBP (£).
I was actually hoping the Celemony deal was $149 rather than €149 - but what the heck, it's still a *great* price for the upgrade.
