How do I change the name of the clip?
I am in Sonar X3, it used to be possible to change a clip's name (like where it says, "Recording 22"). I Left click, right click on it- nothing happens. I need to rename them to know what is what. Thank you for the help.

Type the name of the clip in the track box header. Go to tracks in the upper menu and select "copy names to track".

Thank you. This means- I can not have different clip names on the same track?

Well actually you can but it's a work around. I just had to do it. For all I know there might be another way but what I did was split the main clip into the sections I needed. Then typed the name for the clip in the track box header and copied the name to the highlighted clip. I just repeated the process until all the clips were named. I'd much rather have the right click option back but using the above scenario got the job done.

Renaming individual clips is easy, you just select the clip in question, select "Clip" in the inspector, and fill in the "Clip Name" field at the top.

Where is the "Inspector"? I see "Clips" above the track's clips preview, but no "Clip" and there is no option to change the clip name. Thank you for your replies.

press 'I' for inspector in track view. Its the individual channel strip with the track and bus faders in case you didnt know that was what it was called. The Clip option is up with the Pro Channel selection at the top

I forget not everyone uses the inspector! I have it docked to the left at all times. It's invaluable for that kind of track by track stuff.
