Session Drummer 3 Not Loading in X3
I have been using Session Drummer 3 for a long time and since I have installed X3 producer it fails to load. I have done 3 reinstalls and the patch and still have problems. Help!!!!!!!!!!

As I said before I have reinstalled 3 times and applied the patch.

Try closing SONAR, right clicking on the icon for SONAR X3 and selecting "Run as Administrator". Did this clear it up?

I had this problem and I tried everything anyone told me, but it still didn't work. I tried uninstalling X3 along with deleting the reg entries, I tried the resetting and rescanning of my VSTs and that didn't work. The only way I did get it to work was to go into my VST plugins folder (C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\VSTPlugins) and delete the folder named Session Drummer 3. Then I installed Sonar X2 and only selecting the Session Drummer 3 VST plugin to be installed. I unchecked everything else. When I did that and let X3 rescan, Session Drummer works. I don't know if you have X2 or not, but if you do, it may work for you.
Surely, there is another way to fix this, but I couldn't find it. It seems that the overwhelming majority don't have this problem, but some of us are.
By the way, the Session Drummer that X2 installs is not the same file size as the one X3 installs and I have never found out what the difference is. Anyone know ?

I had same problem. And already opened a topic for this.
I have already tried what has written in the link attached by Dan Gonzales . Now it has completely lost !! Session Drummer even not in scanned VTS's anymore.

I finally got my Session Drummer 3 back. I did what said and it worked. I installed it from my Sonar Producer X2 the 32bit version. It works fine now. Thanks Rloseven!!!!!! Your the Bomb!
When I did that it not only didn't replace Session Drummer but lost SI Drummer and Amp Sim. Trying another install of X2a 64 and only clicking on Session Drummer (assuming that the program files should be installed - tried unchecking every single thing in that part of the installation apart from SD last time). I should also say that I downloaded X3 on two times on different days. Could I really have dl-ed a corrupted file both times with the same ommission of SD? I had SI Drum kit taken out of a previous attempt as well and in the confusion of trying everything I could think of over days I reinstated it I think by reinstalling X3 and the b patch. Anyone else?

I have upgraded from SONAR 6 to X3. So do not have X1 or X2 to replace Session Drummer from there. Just need to use a VST which I have paid for ! There should be a simple solution instead of acting like a matrix guy ..deleting, jumping, overwrting etc..! Sorry but this is a mess

As a long time user I never had a a problem like this :) I think should try it by managing the cost of call and time difference due living in Turkey. becaue not able to fix it either via mails or in this forum.

You don't have to install all of X2. All your doing is a custom install only selecting one program from X2. Session Drummer 3 that's it and nothing else.
I did that several times, in 32 and 64 bit installations of x2. The biggest effect was the loss of more vst2 instruments (eg SI drum kit but who knows how much else?) FX etc (Amp Sim and Vocal Strip) and still no Session Drummer in X3.

X3 32bit or 64bit? And in either case, where are your VST path(s)? You could reinstall 100 times, but if the VSTs are not located where SONAR is pointing they'll never be found. The fact that you lost one synth by simply installing a different one doesn't make sense, unless there's a pathing issue adding to the situation.

I would like some help also, sorry if this is not cool-Just hoping for an answer. I thought I had it but I don't.
No matter what I d (regedit, whatever) Sessiondrummer INSISTS on looking for the multisamples in the default folder C:\Program files\Cakewalk\vsts\etc etc. Mine are on a separate drive -sample disk. Same place they have been for many, many years and many versions of Sonar.
In the register (Win 8 Pro) they are pointing to E:\Cakewalk Content\Contents. Always worked before. Something is forcing it to look in the default folder-
Any ideas??

Glad it worked for you. It is a pretty handy tool. Among other things, I use it to consolidate SONAR customization of all types into one directory tree.

My X3 is 64 bit as was my last working installation of X2a. The only difference between these addresses that I can see is capitalisation. The VST settings path is: c:\program files\cakewalk\vstplugins\session drummer 3 The file SessionDrummer x64.dll on my computer is at: C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Vstplugins\Session Drummer 3 The address for session drummer does not appear in the list of enabled plugins in the plugin manager. A quick check with the most recent x2a 64 bit reveals that it too in minus Session Drummer.

Huh... I'm pretty sure the paths aren't case sensitive, so that shouldn't be the issue. And all sub-folders should automatically be scanned.
Since you're not seeing SD in either version then it's definitely being missed. Have you tried a Rescan on existing and failed plugins and/or a Reset?
Also... have you tried displaying Disabled plugins in the Plugin Manager, just to be sure?

I've tried rescanning on existing and failed plugins and have reset several times. Session Drummer does not appear in the list of excluded vst instruments.
