Really odd problem with WAVES plugins in Sonar X1d and X2a

I added the WAVES PuigEQ from the recent sale to my plugin collection. Everything installed fine and works perfect on the main DAW.

On the backup system, though, I have a weird problem; searching all sorts of forums didn't help. Here's the situation:
  • WAVES USB dongle is connected
  • PuigEq installed
  • it is fully functional in other hosts (e.g. Mixbus)
  • when doing a plug-in scan, it shows up in Sonar
  • however, none of the WAVES plugs appear in the plugin selection list of the FX bin (neither in the default list nor in the custom one where I had added all WAVES plugs) - it seems like as if there would be no WAVES license available in Sonar ...

    ok, just found the solution:

just scanning VST plugins did not help, but once I clicked "Reset All VST plugins" in the preferences and then scanned VSTs, I got the WAVES plugs back

I was told by Waves support to do this after any install of their products. I always do.
