X2 question - I need assistance with previewing drum sounds

Hi - I never do this, so I am asking for assistance from you folks.

My son is visiting, and I am trying to show him X2/X3.  He uses FL Studio a lot, and he is asking me how he can preview all the bass drum samples in Sonar, like he does in FL Studio, and I have NO idea how to do this in Sonar.

He just wants to be able to mimic the functionality in FL Studio, where you can simply listen to all the various bass drum or hi-hat samples until you find the one you want.

Thanks for assisting,

Bob Bone

Load SD3 and load drum at the bottom. There you will be able to load different kicks.

Because Sonar comes with different ways to play drums there is no single way to preview them all. If you had BFD2 or 3 you can preview all their drums.

You can preview samples straight from the browser.  Click on them and they will play.

You can drag'n'drop samples onto drums in Session Drummer.

Otherwise, it depends what Drum Software you use..

Yeah - I was hoping if I could navigate to each set of samples in the browser that I could play through them there.

My son uses FL Studio, and he can preview all the included drums on the left side of the main screen, and that's what I was trying to replicate in Sonar.
