"Little Kings" - Remixed with suggested additions

I put on my producer/arranger hat for this one....
My first project done with X3.
Piano is the Lounge Lizard, clav is Dim Pro, horns are NI Session Horns, bass is Cakewalk SI, drums are Addictive Drums.
It's not finished yet, vocal is a first take and the mix is still rough but I'd like to get some feedback if you've got a minute.
It's a song about the mess in D.C. called "Little Kings"

As always, thanks for listening. Hope you enjoy!

Edit 10/28/2013 - I have remixed this and redone the vocal, plus added some background vocals and an acoustic guitar rhythm track. I think the mix is a little better now. At least I hope it is....

Killer!  Love how you did the drums.  Keys, guitar, and bass all standout nicely.  Kinda Steely Danish IMO.  I think the snare needs just a taste less spread.  Everything else is so good.  How about some harmony on the hook?  Lead guitar is tastey too!  There is a high part going on "3, 4" that I think is a hi hat.  Seems a little hot.  Don't really know what that is.  You did awesome.  Congrats.  I am a fan of this one!

Oh yeah! Great song and production...I love this kind of stuff. It reminds me of Steely Dan too, which is high praise in my little world. Love the Dan! That's a good guitar solo too.

Rimshot - Thanks for the comments. It's my first time using Addictive Drums, I may have a little too much overhead and room mics in there. The part that's too hot is a percussion part, I'll tame that a bit. Thanks again!

Clint- The Dan is one of my favorites too, you made my day!

John- Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed it. The guitar solo is my Tele through Guitar Rig 5, I can't remember the preset I started with, I think it was "Fusion Solo". Appreciate it!

Walt- Thanks for the listen. The keys and horns are programmed parts, I didn't actually play them, but I had a lot of fun doing them. Thanks for the compliments on the mix, it's not finished yet but I think it's close.

Definitely got the Steely Dan funk vibe nicely done and the production is very nearly there.

Great job,  definitely in the style of Steely Dan.   Big fan of their music.   Reminds me a bit of Black Cow, from their Aja album, in the verses.   This is a funky masterpiece.

Glad to hear those horns, have been contemplating NI Session Horns, they sound really good.  Everything sounds good....

Mark- Thanks a bunch, I'm still unsure of the vocals, I'll probably keep most of that take but tweak a few parts here and there. Love the Pugtones stuff!

Wookie- Glad you enjoyed it, appreciate the listen. Yeah, still gotta tighten up the mix a bit....

Daniel- If it got you moving then it's all good, keep it up and Thanks!

Mark- Thanks for the kind words! I agree there's a lot of "Black Cow" in there, I heard the lyrics to it in my head while listening to the basic tracks. But then I thought WTF, I was going for a Steely Dan sound anyway because they're one of my all time favorites so...
I think you'll enjoy Session Horns, they've never let me down and for the stuff I do they're perfect.
    Thanks again!

As I said in the op, I've remixed this, redone the lead vocal and added some background vocals and an acoustic guitar rhythm track. I think the mix is a little better now.
Hope you enjoy it and thanks for all the comments and suggestions!

Donald and Walter would be proud of this.  Your engineering skills are super, and this is the coolest funk I've heard in a long time.  Bravo!
