Did you download the version you installed?
If so, did you have any antivirus software running during either the download or the install?
Also, if you remove and install again, there is more to do to remove the prior install than just using Control Panel uninstall program feature.
You also have to look for and remove any Sonar X2 Producer folder in a hidden folder called C:\Users\(insert your user name here)\AppData\Roaming\Cakewalk, and you also have to delete any Sonar X2 Producer registry keys.
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cakewalk Music Software\SONAR Producer
In the above, delete the X2 key, if present.
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cakewalk Music Software\SONAR Producer
Again, delete the X2 key, if present.
You might consider downloading the install files again, using a download manager - such as the one built into Chrome, then when running the install, make SURE you right-click on it and click on Run As Administrator.
The above registry keys are for a 64-bit install. I do not know the ones for a 32-bit install.
