Is This Significant?
For about the last week I have been seeing the number 13 in one way or another. I mean everything lately seems to be 13 something. Am I in for trouble?

I had a similar thing many years ago when the number 22 kept cropping up everywhere. I was 22 at the time. I kept waking up and looking at my clock and it would be 22 minutes past the hour. Then one day a small piece of paper came through my letterbox with the number 22 printed on it. Having said that, I took a fair bit of acid in those days. I think it was a drug-induced mix of OCD and psychosis.

Yes, both numbers are significant and you can say that 13 has two significant figures.
It becomes a bit trickier with a number like 10 or 100 (i.e., when zeros are involved). For example, the number 100 has one significant figure but if you wrote 100. then you have three significant figures with the decimal point indicating that the zeros are significant.
Additionally, if you have the number 100 and you know that only two of the numbers are significant, then you would use scientific notation and write 1.0 x 10^2. That gives you 100 to two significant figures.

I very often will look at a clock and it will show 11:11
This is interesting because I met my future wife to be on 11/11 @ 11:11pm (many years ago now)
We had our biggest Lottery win ever (£74) with a ticket purchased on 11/11/11

Hi,
Actually it was a very bad/weird day.
I went home sick. Went to bed at 9AM till 11. Went and got a salad at TJ's. Ate it. Went back to bed from 1 to 4. Got up. Had cup of Decaf English Tea. Was sick as ____! Fooled around the computer to burn clock. At 730 took a large dose of Nyquil ... and woke up this morning feeling OK at 415 when the alarm goes off!
The whole day my stomach was just all over the place, and I nearly gave up my guts once or twice!
As a wise Guy once stated from his holy chapala ... none of the hits, none of the time ... prevents you from becoming just another turkey in the middle of all the other turkeys!

For about two years running it seemed like every third license plate I saw had a V in it. That even included out of state plate.
That was veird, wunnit?

Well I hope ur better now Mosh. Craig lol. It was really strange. I would buy something and the price would be 13.13 or I would look at the time and it would be 13:13 (military time). I would count and have 13 of something. I would listen to a conversation and they would refer to 13 somehow. It just seemed to come up with more than a passing regularity.Another number that has been significant is 27, don't ask me why but it seems to come up too. Bristol as I type this it is 11:11 am. Go figure. And it happens to be 2013. In some circles 13 is a lucky number.Mystic, you have me wondering about Sunday. Sharke that's interesting. Might not have been the acid. I haven't taken any unless someone has been slipping it in my orange juice;) Dave, that's interesting. Mesh I don't consider myself at all superstitious, but I think there is a number connection . I just don't know what the connection is or what it means.I see it more as something practical that isn't totally understood. Hmmm...I wonder if there is hidden meaning to X3? It has the second digit, and X could be anything
