Come and get 'em: FREE AES "Exhibits Plus" passes courtesy of Gibson Pro Audio
As part of Gibson Pro Audio's sponsorship of the Project Studio Expo at AES, we're able to offer FREE registration for the 135th AES Convention (October 17-20, Javits Center, New York City). The Exhibits Plus pass includes not only the exhibits but the Project Studio Expo done in conjunction with Sound on Sound magazine (I'll be doing three workshops, one of which involves mastering in SONAR). You'll also have access to Jimmy Jam's keynote address and other special events, the Knowledge Center, and Sound Systems Symposium. I'm particularly stoked about the Project Studio Expo - the workshops were a major hit of last year's convention in San Francisco. Also, the TASCAM booth will include some of the latest Gibson Pro Audio products, and Cakewalk will be demoing X3 with TASCAM interfaces and I believe the new KRK Gen 3 Rockits as well. I'll also be spending some time at the booth and would love being able to meet some of you face to face. Apologies if this is perceived as spam, but I figure free passes to AES would be pretty cool for those of you living in the New York area. If anyone from the forum attends, probably the best time to meet up is right after I do a workshop, or Saturday morning at the TASCAM booth. I've met a few Sonar forumites in the past at other events and it's always a blast!! Wow, there really are humans behind those sigs...

I will be there, but there are so many sessions an papers I want to attend I'm not sure how much time I will get on the exhibit floor... but the Tascam/Sonar booth is HIGH on my list to see, so hopefully I'll catch up with some of you.

Can't you just do it York? It would only take me 90 minuets to get there by car. New York's a bit far, besides something gets in the way. It's called the Atlantic.

Yes there is! And we've talked in Baton Rouge after your workshop that you held there, must have been about two years ago now! I enjoyed the workshop and the chance to see you. To speak with you and ask questions after the workshop was the highlight of the weekend!!

That's because the link actually points to Craig's webmail account on Gibson's outlook :) He must have pasted the text from an email, where Outlook changed the link target to one of its redirect link. If you just select the link in the post, copy it, and paste into your browser, you should be fine.

Nice to see Gibson do this for Sonar users. Getting on to the shows has never been an issue for me, not when you work for the company that puts them together. I just need to coordinate a legitimate reason to visit the NY office, next year at this time. Maybe I should start working on Anaheim for a mid January excuse to visit.

Was just curious about this years NAMM show. Do you know if Gibson plans to host the Cakewalk booth within their own regular exhibition hall area? In years past, Gibson has been quite hard to visit the actual display hall unless you had a specific vendor supported badge or were a Gibson dealer. Would love to see Gibson give Cakewalk a little more floor exposure instead of sandwiching them between the Roland Pedalboards and V Accordion booths! :-)

My first workshop is Friday at 3PM about mastering...and about mastering in Sonar. I've developed some interesting techniques and this will be my first seminar ever about mastering in a multitrack DAW instead of using a dedicated mastering program. The next workshops are Saturday at 11AM and 1PM. Here's the complete schedule and descriptions. Although I'm not listed (it was last minute), I'm also doing the Q&A with Jimmy Jam at 5PM on Friday. See you there!!
