Was the automation list from the track edit filter supposed to be refined with sub menus?

Was the automation list from the track edit filter supposed to be refined with sub menus?

I am still seeing just one huge forever scrolling list. is this only applicable to VST3 plugins?

    From the Updated Edit Filter section:
     
    ...if the plugin supports plugin supports parameter categories, the params will be grouped into sub category folders.
