CPU Core usage

Does anyone know how many cores X3 utilizes?

I'm looking at a i7-4770 quad processor or just build a monster (within my budget) and go for a six core i7-4930

Sounds great (bigger is better in this case), but if Sonar is not going to utilize all the cores there is no point for what I am running.

thanks John

Sonar will take advantage of all available cores

So... why not ask the stupid question.

I am ordering a system from Studio Cat this week.

I have Sonar 7 Producer Edition. I think I bought it when it was released.

Will it too, use all four-cores in the 4770K that ships with the system I want to order?

I would then be changing from a Dell laptop with a duo-core T9300 running at 2.5GHz with 4G of ram to a new system tower that has the four-core/8thread 4770K running at 4.5GHz with 16G of ram.

Oh, and when I use the laptop above to capture tracks (plug-in free) in the Dell's 32Bit system and take them to the new 64Bit system tower I speak of above, what will I notice as far as performance and plug-ins.

It seems that when you load Sonar 7PE in 32Bit, it has different plug-ins than when you load it in 64Bit, and I can't remember if there is less or more...go figure.

I guess the plug-ins are a moot point, as I am planning on getting the Izotope bundle that includes Alloy 2 and Ozone 5.

But I am not discounting any plug-ins in Sonar...I just don't know what to expect I guess.

    Purrrfect Audio LLC Pro Studio, Sonar X3e PE X64, Win7 Pro 64Bit - Dell Inspiron 1760, Sonar 7 PE X64, Win7 Pro 64Bit - iZotope Ozone 5 & Alloy 2 - MOTU Audio Express & 2 MOTU 8Pre - Glyph & Lacie External HDs - Roland A-800Pro - Mackie MR5mkIII - Shure - AKG - Sennheiser

    Most importantly...not enough time.
