Sonar on Multiple computers upgrading from x2

I am on X2 Producer  - Thinking upgrading Sonar x2 Producer to Plat

I need it on two computers - one for home recording desktop  and one as a sequencer when band plays on my laptop

Is that allowed?

thanks,

Paul

Yes, as long as one instance of SONAR is used at a time. Just like X2.

Indeed. The license is for one person's use, and they trust us to self-regulate that, with minimal intrusive CP overhead. As compared to companies where yes, theoretically you can have the product installed on multiple computers but you have to move the license around from one to another via iLok or web-dependent authorization... I don't absolutely boycott products from those companies if it's a product I really want to use, but it's not exactly an encouragement to know that using it means I have to remember to shuttle licenses around if I want to use my mobile rig...

The real limitations are on the extras like Addictive Drums + Melodyne with 2 installations each.  As someone that has 3 or more computers for personal use (only using one at a time).  It would be nice to have it all available on each.

I'm afraid the answer is... Not for you, Paul.  Everyone else is allowed to install on more than one computer... but not you.

The problem is your screen name, which just screams "ill-intent".

Have someone like Bapu vouch for you, and you might be allowed -- JUST THIS ONCE.

No promises, though.

BTW, you're gonna love SPlat!

I was hoping - I havnt been around the forums and have not upgraded since X2 so I have been out of loop and things have changed......was hoping some things would have stayed the same and this has. I think Cakewalk is a good company.

The new subscription plan and all that doesn't bother me or the new owners. I don't record "songs" as much as I used to but I use sonar X2 alot .... things in my life has changed to focusing on my band and playing Live and Sonar X2 has been what we use for backing tracks - mostly Keyboard stuff - Its a lot of work making backing tracks and clicks and things .. It's an 80's band and we can not find a keyboard player for the life of us - so we just decided to do 80's sythn stuff in X2- plus it's one less disgruntle band member  personality to deal with in the band.... and one less wife to listen to
