Dowloading X3 now , what do i need to know ?
Ok guyz i made the plaunje few min ago ....not feeling it but hey , why not ...
Just uninstalled X2 : lost then My VS 700 dll !!! (warning message told me that before X1 starts) and no more VS 700 option on my control surface : THIS for those that still don't understand why i keep asking Cake to give us a CLEAR and EASY Unistall procedure , should be stiky in up on the Forum page ...also now all my cake project files don't have a X1 icons on ...lol ok ...
So the plan for me is :
X3 /32 bits with 32 bits plugins , VST 2 (maybe VST 3 )
Waves Mercury , softube , Steven slate heavy user here
WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW ?
also Addictive drums install : can i install it on 2 comp ? one offline ?

Is there a reason that you uninstalled Sonar X2?
Just curious. I have Sonar 8.5.3, X1, X2 and now X3 all installed. Personalized setting are all imported to the newest install.

While waiting for the download take a look at the X3 knowledge base articles. Plan on preforming a VST reset and rescan. Pay attention to the special info on Waves VST2/VST3 use. Current version of AD is online install only.

X2 out cause i'm on SSD 120gb for now (i tend to take ultra fast intel but low GB ;)) need some room , PT 11 coming also soon just to master it ...not really use it ....don't want to depend on people when i go in studios ...
what's the deal with waves ?

I like it a lot. It is very stable and much more then X1 expanded d. That was very solid for me.
It does a better job of using the cores too. I was thinking I would have to change the setup to run the X3 demo project if run on X1 or X2. Not so with X3. I think you are going to like it as much as the rest of us.

If you had issues downloading files, it may help a lot to get a download manager (there are a few posts on this), as well as checking the downloaded files (MD5 hashes) are correct prior to installing. Only other helpful point is to right click and run the installation "As Administrator."
Definitely research waves. I do not have it myself, but there has been a lot of talk about this with X3b.

if you have a VST 2 plugin ...does sonar replace it by the VST 3 version ? Dll replaced ?or reference under Vst analyser?
do old sessions with vst 2 instances open with vst3 automaticaly ?

I used to personalized all my FX plugins name to make them shorter and readable in the fx bin...and guess what ?
GONE !!!

Yes and that will happen every time you use the reset VST option. After reading this post renaming plug-ins using the VST plug-in properties dialog could be a problem now.

Two questions... 1) Why would you uninstall X2? 2) Is there a specific reason you would install X3 in 32 bit?

by the way can somebody save and post here the default Color scheme (not the presets ) but the one loaded by delault?! Thks can't see melodyne in create region FX options ...also the Asio buffer deson't dispaly the value unless you choose to click on the asio properties page option ...in preferences ...bizarre

OFFICIALLY my worst experience wuth cakewalk !! Fpor real guyz .....been trying to get bugs go out i X3 ?.....i gave up ...restart X1 and guess what : A FUOKING full RESCAN !!!!!!!!! DAMMMMMMMMMMM i just spent the whole day maunally , plugin byu plugin renaming them in the registry to match my laptop based plugin name of all my Mercury , Softube , Slate and instruments !!!!
Can't believe i paid to try X3 !!!
For real can't believe i spend my dayz off on this **** ...isntead of working and having fun ......
Never siwtched before at least 6 months ...why theFFFFF i don't listen to myself !!
Why do they never release a demo on day one !!!? now i guess i start to understand why !
