inspector glitch

hi everyone, it seems i'm having problems with the inspector pane. i'm trying to attach a screen shot but I have no idea how to do that so I hope you understand my description. when I open the inspector it does not show the usual two strips (track and main) what I get is PART, what i'm seeing is some of the console view and part of whatever strip I need. does that make any sense? if not could you tell me how to attach a screen shot. thanks so much.

Click the tabs at the top of the Inspector to cycle through the various views. You will see that as you do that the Tabs will turn blue (or whatever color... I'm not at my DAW). If your desired Inspector view is being obscured by some other gack click the tab that has turned blue and that tab will be deselected thus showing what's underneath.

This used to annoy me to no end until I figured that out. There are also keybindings to access the various views but I'd have to dig through my notes to get at them. If you want those bindings let me know and I will post them. Cheers.

And rereading that I may have misinterpreted the problem. If what I just posted doesn't fix your problem I think you may have set it to Narrow Strips or hidden some components.

You need to post a pic what you have to do is upload your picture to an image host like Photobucket or Imageshack then copy the URL (the host will generate a URL or you can right click the picture and select Copy Image Location and the URL will be on your clipboard). Then click the little picture icon at the top of the comment box here on the forum and paste the URL into the dialog that shows up. Click preview to see if it worked then click Post and we should be able to see it.

I do not think this forum supports uploading images directly from the user's computer (it would take up too much server space which is why we  use image hosts). The exception is our profile avatar images.

Glad to help. Posting pics here has always been a little wonked but the new forum seems to handle it better. It used to be a clusterfart of manually trying different forum codes with different file types if you weren't using one of the "chosen" browsers. Even then it seemed to change all the time. Total nightmare.
