How much RAM for Windows 8 Tablet?

Hello all.  I'm considering purchasing a Windows 8 tablet to go along with my new Sonar X3.  How much RAM do you think I need to be able to record without noticing latency/delay on input monitoring with plugins (especially delay/echo plugins)?  On my current machine (which has 8 gigs RAM) I'm able to record and play off/with plugins like the Oilcan Echo in real-time tempo without problems.

Thanks!

Im not sure a win tablet will have the grunt for processing audio through fx in realtime. Its not just a question of ram.

When you say 'Tablet' could you define that a bit better? To me a Windows Tablet is a Surface. I have a Surface RT but there is a Surface 'Pro' or something like that.

Generally speaking if you are speaking of a 'Surface' when you say Tablet the memory model that is referenced is storage not RAM. If you are speaking of a touch enabled notebook I'd go with as much memory as I could comfortably afford...but I would allocate the same rule to a rack mounted workstation also.

I also agree with mudgel that if you are thinking of running any version of X3 on tablet (see previous question) you will be disappointed. On the other hand I use my Surface RT has a control surface for X3 on my primary DAW. It's has a lot of utilitarian value.

    Regards,

Thanks for the responses.  I mean a tablet running Windows OS, not necessarily a Microsoft-manufactured machine.

Sonar cant run on a surface rt, if it could at all it would only be a surface pro from an OS point of view only.

I'm planning to purchase a tablet with full Windows 8, not RT.

While you can get as much as.512.GB of storage.space and 8 GB Ram, I cant see using the Skylight interface on a 10" display. I juat think if I had that kind of money to spend i know what id do.
