Small, but Important, Improvements to Staff View in X3b
1. No longer necessary to hold CTRL when right-clicking and calling up the process menu. Definitely welcome. 2. Now, when selecting a group of notes, you don't unselect them just by clicking on a blank area, but rather you have to click and drag a little. This is actually a good thing for me because the old way it was too easy to accidentally unselect notes that I didn't want to unselect. 3. It's now easier to right click and get the note's property menu when the the note is on a ledger line below the staff. 4. The snap-to function seems to work better. Even if the values of the snap are small (i.e. 60 ticks), it is now easier to enter, say, an eighth note, exactly where it should be. JG http://www.jerrygerber.com/symphony8.htm

[[3. Best.

Thanks for this good news. I am puzzled, because I thought I read that a Cakewalk rep said there were no changes to the Staff View in X3. The reasons given several years ago for not updating it were essentially 1) it's not a priority and 2) the code was too old to be worked on. You have given us some hope about the second reason.
Software: Cakewalk by Bandlab; Adobe Audition; Band-in-A-Box audiophile; Izotope Ozone; Encore; Melodyne; Win 10 Pro, 64-bit. Hardware: Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 2nd; Roland Integra-7; TCE Finalizer; Presonus Central Station, Behringer X-Touch. Home built i7 with 16 GB RAM, SSDs.

yep. Exactly. Easier in X3 than in X2. Also, if it's hard in X2, just use the Event Inspector and make changes there (for those still using X2).

If you look at the changes in X3b, you'll see there are some updates to the staff view, including some of the ones I mentioned. Unfortunately, the dotted/tied triplet issue will most likely never be addressed. JG www.jerrygerber.com/symphony8.htm
