Ohm Studio is both a software and a service. You can go for free offers for both, or buy both, or any combination of the two. Ohm Studio (free) includes a basic production suite, free partner plugins (Hybrit amp sim from Lepou and Voxengo's Old Skool Verb), exclusive UVI-made Ohm Studio multi-instrument (with 1.5 Gb of sounds), Frohmage filter and all of the Ohm Studio features with two exceptions: recording is limited to 16 bits and export to high quality compressed audio. Ohm Studio Pro ( €39 euro zone, ~ $42 everywhere else) includes all of this, gets rid of the two limitations and also includes industry standards OhmBoyz delay and Minimonsta synth. Ohm Studio Pro XXL ( €99 euro zone, ~ $107 everywhere else) includes everything from the pro version plus Ohmicide distortion, Quad Frohmage filterbank, Predatohm distortion, Hematohm frequency shifter, Ohmygod! comb filter, Mobilohm phaser and Oddity synth. On the service side users can choose to pay a monthly fee to take advantage of a comfortable project- and asset storage space, or stay with the 10 free projects. Creating, joining, or being a member of a given project will all use 1 project credit.

Are you going to test out the free version?
I always check 'em out...I beta tested for awhile....it's a great concept...but got sidetracked with Xx and other things...so I've already downloaded it...haven't installed yet..busy with X3b...LOL This and Bitwig are on my "watch" list. I also know that MixBus V3 is in the pipeline... and will probably get MIDI and VSTi support and 64 bits....that's exciting news also...

I installed it but have no idea how to use it. The fonts are way to small and it's just useless. I emailed their support and hopefully they have a way to make it legible. We'll see.

+1. Not to replace SONAR (for me) but if I get 64bit, mono channel accepting stereo plugins and 16 buses (or even 24) I'd be happy. I'd also be delighted if the buses added along side tracks acted like real buses (i.e. will solo anything routed to it) that would be a plus.

I played with Mixbus for a week or so after I bought it, but found myself drawn back to the familiar workflow of Sonar. And now that I have X3, I'm afraid that it's gonna collect dust on my hard drive.

Someone linked Ohm Studio in the class I am taking and the concept is interesting. Have any of you tested this out yet?

Just clicking on the link in the O.P. started a download process of a .exe file.
It seems like a gentler script on their download page would seem more friendly.
