plug in manager won't recognize waves 9

just acquired waves 9 and i believed i'd installed it into my cakewalk vst/plugins folder. however, while i see the program installed on my computer, the plugins are not in the waves folder, nor does the 'scan for plug-ins seem to see it in sonar 8.5. what seems to be missing?
 
as an aside, it might be worthwhile to note i don't run sonar from the same drive as my OS. waves IS, however on the same drive as sonar; as such i'm perplexed as to why scanning for plugins hasn't at least "seen" the folder or plugins. i also noted that the folder IN the vst/plugins folder is named waveshell, not waves 9.....please advise.
