Flange or Phase a few bars of entire mix!

Hey guys, i'm on Sonar 8.5! What is the easiest way to Flange an entire mix for a couple bars ....the last time i did this ('bout 7 years ago) it was a bit of a task ....i beleive i cut the entire mix to new tracks and a sub master fader for the Flange ......there must be a quicker way!

I don't mind printing destructive audio ...i'll just save it under a different project name!

The simplest way would be to automate the flanger on the master bus. The plug-in should have either have an on/off or wet/dry setting.

Here is a video showing how to create a volume envelop. Plug-in parameters can be automated in the same fashion.

Or you can automate the mix control from 100% dry to however much flange you want and then return to the dry.

Yep. It is easy when you know how. Even though the videos use X1, the techniques in Craig Anderton's two videos SONAR X1 Advanced Workshop and Advanced Workshop: The Next Level are really worth a look. The Vintage Tape Flanging technique describe in "The Next Level" video is a great trick using the Sonitus Modulator. I bet you might find the trick alone is work the cost of the videos. They are on sale cheap http://www.store.cakewalk.com/b2cus/category.aspx?categoryID=44&cat=44

I am sorry you feel that way. I don't work for anybody at this time. When I typed my reply, message 8 and 9 were not posted so it appeared that you had figured out how to do what you wanted. Had post 8 been available, my subsequent post might have been different. Oh well, too bad you are so thin skinned. While the mix slider is all you need to get the wet/dry setting you need (see my post #2 wrt wet/dry) I thought you might find the technique described in Craig's video very interesting is all. Sorry for the insult, I will not bother with any more suggestions.

Look ...i'm gonna be straight up ...back in the day when someone asked for help ...a user would "spell" it out ....in sonar 8.5 i do not have a "wet dry" option in the buss envelope section ....

being that i'm thin skinned ....i'll await for your step by step on how to automate the sonitus modulator on the mix buss ...just on/ off is all i need ! thanks

you have 6000 plus posts ...i assume this is easy?

How would anyone know the parameter without knowing the effect? I guess it was my fault for trying to help in the first place. Don't worry, it will not happen again.

the parameter? i want to enable the sonitus modulator for 4 bars on the "master"  buss then turn it off when the vocal begins? that's pretty straight up ...like any dance mix tune .....

    Click the Write button 'W'
Adjust the Mix Parameter from 0% to 100% for your 4 bars
Click Write again to turn off Write Enable

Adjust your envelope on the Master bus as required
