X3 will not allow "Restore Down" (Resize) the main X3 window.

New strange happenings.

As we all know, the button on the right top of just about any program in Windows allows you to maximize, minimize, and resize the window it is operating in. Evidently the resize feature is called "restore down".

X3 will not let me resize the window. The "restore down" button is available, but nothing happens. X3 stays maximized.

This is very inconvenient, since I used to be able to look at song lyrics in Word while recording, by using two open windows.

I called up the old copy of Sonar 8.5 and it works fine.

I am using X3b build 216.

I tried to find someone else in the forum with this issue, but I seem to be alone in this.

Anyone with ideas?

Thanks in advance for any help.

You need to drag the window to the size you want it.  After that it should alternate between full & the size you set it too.

    Thanks.

The alternate size was so big I couldn't seem to grab the edge with the mouse.

But I worked at it a while and finally it let me push it over and resize.

I never had this happen in Windows before, but I never made claims to be savy.

    Thanks again.

In Win 7 if you click and drag a program so that it's top edge comes against the top of the screen, the program window will open to maximum.

Just grab the top of the programs menu bar and drag downward and it should return to its restore down state.

    Thanks, Mudgel.

I didn't understand this new feature of Windows 7.

    Good to know.
