(SOLVED) Export Loop Region Only?

I find myself missing a simple function that I'm used to from some video editing software.  You create your "Loop Region", no big deal there, but then when you go to export, you have the option to "JUST export the loop region" as an MP3 or WAV or whatever...

Is that possible in Sonar X3?  I know you can chop stuff up into clips, and then highlight a clip, and export that, OR you can export the entire song (or print it to a new track) and then cut & crop that down to the region you want, etc... but that completely misses the point.

Sometimes I want to get a quick 10 second section of a song, that might have 40-50 tracks on it or something.  (So I don't want to "cut all of the tracks" into pieces, and then highlight the 50 segments.)  It would be easier if I could just, up in the timeline, where you select your loop region, just do THAT, and then export ALL of the tracks, but ONLY the loop region.

Is this possible, and I'm just missing a checkbox somewhere?  Or is this just not something that has been implemented, because nobody else has a use for it?

It wouldn't NORMALLY be a big deal, but when you have 50 tracks, including multiple VSTi, and tons of stuff in the FX bins, and all kinds of things like that, doing a full export of your song to WAV every time you make a few changes, can be pretty time consuming, especially if the only part you want to test, is a 10 second (or so) sample of the song.

Any suggestions?

The export function works on the selection in the project. Select the track(s), then select the time range to export either by selecting along the timeline, the select menu, select module or markers then export the selection.

Just select all tracks and mark the region you want to export in the time line. It's that easy :)

The thing with Sonar is that if a track is selected this is the only track Sonar will export (that's what happens when you select a clip)

In other words, you can select a clip that takes up the region you want to export and then just select all tracks (with the mouse in track view). If you export now all tracks selected will be included

Amazing!  I have a bad habit of always clicking some random spot inside the track view, to make sure I don't have anything highlighted, before exporting, to make sure that I export EVERYTHING.  And the fact I couldn't find a "Export Loop Region Only" option, I guess I wasn't looking for the right thing.  Thanks for the suggestions guys...

I ended up double clicking on the numbers at the bottom of the Console View (to highlight ALL of the tracks) and then selected the region I wanted to export by highlighting it in the timeline, and then exported, and saved myself several minutes for the mixdown.  This will come in handy often for me in the future.  Thanks again!  Problem solved.
