more 8.1

So is there anything significant in this upgrade that would make it worth waiting to install things? If not I think I'll just hook everything up with windows 8 and then wait for the 8.1 drivers to come out whenever they do.

One good feature of 8.1 update is that it allows corporations to have more security and control over their content used for corporate. This latest feature allows the content to be marked encrypted and that can be wiped away as the relationship ends.

There may be internal things but I don't see any change operationally.  It was supposed to add the start button back, like Win 7, but its not the full feature that was in Win 7.  I have "Start8" (which I bought when I first got Win 8) which does give full Windows 7 functionality to the start, and allows starting at the desktop (like Win 7) instead of the "Metro" screen.

Those that are really into Windows 8 are commenting about the new fixes/features.   Scan over the many posts on the Windows 8 forum.  http://www.eightforums.com/

Although there are some enhancments (Devices, Mobility, Security etc...), functionality-wise, I also didn't see much changes. Looks like a good update for businesses to stay connected to their clients. There seem to be quite a few security enhancements as well. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/dn140266

It seems like the hardware manufacturers that need to be compatible and have updated drivers for Win8.1.

I'm seeing some other sound driver incompatibilities in 8.1 on the Win 8 forum.  One post from a user that only has Vista drivers and he is having problems since upgrading to 8.1.  His Vista drivers worked OK in 8 (and the Vista drivers are compatible with Vista/Win 7 and Win 8) but not 8.1 on this particular system.
