Roland Tri-Capture ASIO in SONAR X2?
I installed the Roland drivers, and everything looks good. But when I set the driver model to ASIO in SONAR, the interface is not recognized. When booting up SONAR, I get the "There are no audio devices for the current driver model on your system" message. What am I doing wrong??

What version of windows are you running, and what system?
The most probable cause that I can think of is that Windows may be grabbing your interface as soon as you turn it on (so SONAR cannot use it in ASIO mode). In Win7 (if you have another version post back please), open up your "Sound" settings and you should see a dialogue box with "Playback" and "Recording" tabs there. Turn on your interface and look at this window, and set the default device to something other than the Roland Tri-Capture. That way Windows will not grab it when it is turned on. Then when you start SONAR, it should see the Roland Tri-Capture.

Mettelus, thank you. I actually thought of that, and selected the internal Realtek soundcard as the default recording and playback device in Windows (Windows 7 x64). But that didn't help. SONAR totally finds it when I select WDM/KS. Just not in ASIO mode. :(

Hmmm... I run my onboard audio in tandem as well, which is not preferred, but works as long as my ASIO device is not "default" when on.
Is there anything listed in SONAR that you can choose from when you select ASIO mode? I just shifted to a new interface and the old one was embedded into Win7, so ASIO in SONAR would only see that one... I had to unplug the old one from the system.
I would check a few other things...
1) Check drivers for updates.
2) Power it off, try unplugging the USB and plugging it back in (this will force windows to recognize it a second time), power it back on and verify in the sound that it is not "default" again (it has to be on to verify this though)
3) If it has a software interface with it, pop that open when it is on.
4) Try it in ASIO mode on a stand-alone plug-in if you have one and see if it has the same issue.

Thank you for your response. Suggestion number 4 seemed to do the trick. I opened Dimension Pro standalone. Under the ASIO menu,TRI-CAPTURE was an option (the only option, and selected. Then I closed it, opened SONAR, and now it seems to be using the Tri-Capture in ASIO mode without complaints. Yay!

Excellent. I just spent all night reading and tinkering with my new interface, so it feels like I killed two birds with one stone  Have fun with it!

Thanks again for your help. It's a whole new world compared to what I was doing in early-mid the 90s, that's for sure.
Obligatory Environment Info: Dell Inspiron 7520, Intel Core i7-3632QM CPU @ 2.2GHz, 6GB RAM, Windows 7 x64, SONAR Platinum, Roland Tri-Capture USB Audio Interface, Roland A-800PRO MIDI Keyboard Controller, and a $200 geetar.
